Spécial Club "Les Fortes Terres" 2019
The Champagne Spécial Club "Les Fortes Terres" 2019 by Famille Moussé is a Blanc de Noirs that combines stylistic precision with a deep connection to its terroir. It is a genuine expression of Meunier grown in the Premier Cru village of Cuisles, in the Vallée de la Marne. The grapes come from the eponymous Lieu-Dit, planted in 1976 on soils rich in rare green clay, which imparts a distinctive mineral character and vibrant tension to the wine.
The 2019 vintage, marked by its brightness and balance, yielded generous fruit capable of fully expressing the energy of the variety. Vinification takes place entirely in fût de chêne (oak barrels), with six months of aging before bottling, followed by over 36 months of lees aging. The low dosage of 3 g/l (Extra Brut) reflects the Domaine’s philosophy, focused on achieving the purest possible expression of fruit and terroir.
On the palate, Les Fortes Terres 2019 reveals a deep and layered bouquet of hazelnut, dried fruit, quince, and candied citrus peel, enriched by smoky nuances and delicate spice. The mouthfeel is tense, saline, and energetic, with a creamy texture that unfolds along a vertical structure, leading to a long, intense, and savory finish.
