Champagne Eric Taillet
Des Grillons aux Clos
The Champagne Des Grillons aux Clos by Éric Taillet comes from a plot selection of old Meunier vines located between the villages of Montigny and Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, in the Vallée de la Marne. The name of the cuvée refers to its two main lieux-dits, Les Grillons and Les Clos. These historic plots have clay and limestone soils that give the wine a deeply terroir-driven profile, true to the producer's artisanal vision.
This edition, from the 2023 harvest, is completed by 30% from a Réserve Perpétuelle started in 2011, which lends the wine depth and complexity. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel and partly in wood, with an approach that respects the raw material. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for at least 24 months. The final dosage of 1 g/l, in Extra Brut style, gives the wine a pure and highly precise profile.
On tasting, Des Grillons aux Clos shows a bright golden colour and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose reveals ripe yellow fruit, candied citrus, white flowers and light spicy hints, supported by a clear mineral backbone. On the palate it stands out for its vibrant freshness, creamy texture and elegant salinity. The long, harmonious finish gives the wine balance and a consistent expression from start to end.
