Renaissance
The Champagne Renaissance by Éric Taillet takes shape as a cuvée of maturity, conceived to express time as an enological value and Meunier as a profound interpreter of the Vallée de la Marne. The grapes come from very old vines, deeply rooted in an area where the variety has historically shaped the landscape, giving the wine an authentic and layered dimension. Renaissance thus emerges as a thoughtful and conscious expression of Éric Taillet’s style, oriented toward continuity and the living memory of the vineyard.
This edition is based on the 2014 base vintage, completed by 30% vin de réserve, a choice that enhances depth and stylistic coherence. Traditional wooden pressing introduces the wine to a maturation phase carried out between barrels and temperature-controlled vats. After tirage, it undergoes an overall ageing period exceeding 60 months, a decisive factor in building structure and balance. The extremely low dosage of 0.6 g/l places the cuvée in the Extra Brut category, highlighting its precision and tension.
On tasting, Renaissance opens with fruity aromas of cherry, accompanied by herbal nuances reminiscent of fresh mint. On the palate, a velvety and elegant structure emerges, supported by a well-integrated freshness that guides the wine’s development. The progression is harmonious, leading to a long and persistent finish, marked by balance, depth, and expressive clarity.
