The Champagne Petit Meslier 2020 by Elemart Robion is a pure, rare, and identity-driven cuvée made from 100% Petit Meslier, a rare and authorized grape variety in Champagne, part of the Cépages Oubliés family. The grapes come from a single parcel located in the village of Lhéry, in the heart of the Vallée de l’Ardre, rooted in clay-limestone soilsthat contribute to the wine’s tension and precision. This micro-vinification offers an authentic and unconventional voice within the Champagne landscape.
Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel, with spontaneous fermentations and a non-interventionist approach that allows the varietal expression to fully emerge. After the prise de mousse, the wine is aged on the lees for at least 36 months, developing depth and complexity without compromising the grape’s natural liveliness. No dosage is added (0 g/l), even though the label formally classifies it as Extra Brut—a choice that reflects the vigneron's radical and transparent style.
On the palate, Petit Meslier 2020 reveals a clean and original aromatic profile, with notes of lime, fresh herbs, crisp pear, and a touch of anise. The mouthfeel is sharp, vibrant, and full of drive, supported by racy acidity and a saline, balsamic finish that enhances its uniqueness.
