Interlude N°3 Magnum

The Champagne Interlude by Domaine Vincey is a Blanc de Blancs from old vines grown in the Grand Cru villages of Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, chalk-rich terroirs that yield a vertical and luminous Chardonnay. The philosophy is that of a young and radical vigneron, working biodynamically, harvesting at full ripeness and entrusting every gesture to the respect of the parcel, giving life to the only non-vintage cuvée of the project.

This N°3 edition, the third release of the cuvée, is based on the 2021 harvest complemented by 50% vin de réserve from the 2018, 2019 and 2020 vintages, restoring depth to a fresh year. Vinification and fermentation take place entirely in fût de chêne, with indigenous yeasts, partial malolactic and no filtration nor fining. After tirage follows an ageing on the lees of about three years with bouchons liège, with no final dosage.

On tasting, Interlude appears chiselled and taut, with a chalky texture supporting a broad and silky body, where the matter of the oak integrates without ever prevailing over the saline freshness of the terroir. On the palate the balance is that of the great Blanc de Blancs from Oger, with a clear-cut acidity running through the structure like a guiding thread, a long and mineral persistence and a finish that vibrates with chalky tension, leaving a sensation of rare poise and class. Production in a limited run of only 3,427 bottles and 200 magnums.
