Le Grand Jardin 2021
The Champagne Le Grand Jardin 2021 from Domaine Vincey is a Blanc de Blancs sourced from a single, old Chardonnay vineyard planted in 1967 and known as Lieu-Dit Le Grand Jardin, located near the village of Oger, a Grand Cru in the renowned CĂ´te des Blancs. This historic parcel delivers a distinctive profile of great purity, mineral tension, and expressive depth, interpreted by Vincey with an essential, artisanal approach devoted to the transparency of the terroir.
This 2021 vintage edition is vinified and matured entirely in fût de chêne for 12 months, without malolactic fermentation, clarification, or filtration, following a philosophy of maximum integrity. After tirage, the wine ages for at least 36 months on the lees, using bouchons liège (cork stopper with staple) to encourage a finer and more complex micro-oxygenation. At disgorgement, no dosage is added, affirming the Brut Nature style and the desire to preserve the pure, unadorned character of the vineyard.
On tasting, Le Grand Jardin 2021 reveals notes of crystalline citrus, white flowers, fresh almond, and a clear chalky imprint reflecting the calcareous identity of Oger. On the palate, it is vertical and pure, built on vibrant acidity and a finely sculpted texture—rich yet never opulent. The mousse is extremely fine and perfectly integrated; the finish is long, clean, and saline, with echoes of white fruit and delicate nuances of dry pastry. A rare, precise, and structured cuvée that brings together rigor, elegance, and intensity in a style of strong personality.
