LGH "Les Gras d'Huile" V21
The Champagne LGH «Les Gras d'Huile» by Oudiette is a Blanc de Blancs that comes to life from a single plot of Chardonnay planted in 1993 near Beaunay, where Maxime's viticulture speaks of a deep bond with its own terroir. The vineyard safeguards the identity of a Domaine that interprets Champagne as an authentic expression of place and memory, giving back through this parcel a story made of patience, dedication and continuity over time.
This edition, with a 2021 base harvest enriched by 21% of réserve perpétuelle gathering the years from 2015 to 2020, reflects the depth of a work guided by memory and by the continuity of the most precious harvests. Vinification and maturation take place in 228-litre oak barrels for eleven months and, after the tirage, a long ageing on the lees of around twenty-four months follows, while the final dosage of 1.5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, enhances its varietal purity and the distinctive personality of the terroir.
On tasting, LGH «Les Gras d'Huile» proves rich and enveloping, with a profile that combines creamy density and vibrant saline tension along a broad, deep and always perfectly calibrated development in each of its stages. On the palate the structure unfolds with remarkable persistence and clear drive, sustained by a mineral freshness that defines its elegance and confirms the depth of a noble, luminous material, finely chiselled over time. The overall production is 2,562 bottles.
