HSS "Les Hautes Sources Souris" V22
The Champagne HSS «Les Hautes Sources Souris» by Oudiette is a Blanc de Noirs of rare depth, made from Pinot Noir alone rooted in the eponymous Lieu-Dit, a historic vineyard planted in 1990 on the heights of Beaunay. Facing south and set on a soil of brown clay resting over limestone, this vineyard lends the wine a marked minerality and a vibrant tension, yielding an uncommon aromatic depth that speaks clearly of the character of its terroir in the Coteaux du Petit Morin.
This edition, based on the 2022 harvest, is enriched by a 21% perpetual reserve gathering the years from 2018 to 2021, broadening its complexity and affirming a winemaking vision shaped by consistency and memory. Vinification and maturation unfold in 228-litre oak barrels for eleven months, with a natural and meticulous approach that respects the fruit, and after tirage the wine rests on its lees for around 30 months, with no final dosage, in an Extra Brut style.
On tasting, HSS «Les Hautes Sources Souris» stands out for its structural complexity and harmonious balance, with a profile that weaves fruity and floral notes into a sharp, ever-vibrant freshness, the sign of a noble and well-defined material. On the palate the persistence is long and deep, upheld by a saline, incisive texture that underlines its tension and heightens the precision and purity of the fruit. Production in a limited run of 1,500 bottles.
