Bauchet Thomas 2019
The Champagne Bauchet Thomas by Denis Salomon stands out as an intense and distinctive interpretation of Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne, just outside Vandières. It originates from a single parcel planted in 1975 in the Lieu-Dit Bauchet Thomas, where sandy and chalky soils lend the wine sharp tension and vibrant verticality. This Blanc de Meunier powerfully conveys a clear and coherent artisanal vision, deeply rooted in the vineyard and committed to delivering an authentic, precise, and uncompromising expression of its terroir.
This Millésime 2019, based entirely on the 2019 harvest, is vinified in 500-liter oak barrels (fût de chêne) without undergoing malolactic fermentation, a deliberate choice that preserves drive and tension. Following tirage, the wine ages on its lees for over 60 months, enhancing complexity and aromatic depth. Disgorgement takes place with no final dosage, in Brut Nature (0 g/l) style, ensuring a pure and uncompromised profile.
On the palate, Bauchet Thomas 2019 reveals a refined and layered bouquet, with notes of ripe red berries, pink grapefruit, delicate spices, and toasted hazelnut. Creamy yet precise, it is marked by well-defined chalky minerality and vibrant freshness that sustains its balance. The structure is sleek yet deep, with a fine, dynamic texture leading to a long, chiselled finish, fully aligned with the cuvée’s impeccable technical profile.
