Champagne Denis Salomon
Les Clos Barret 2019
The Champagne Le Clos Barret by Denis Salomon was conceived as an identity-driven and deeply territorial project, expressing a single parcel in the Lieu-Dit Clos Barret, near Port à Binson. This parcellaire cuvée pays tribute to the region’s biodiversity through the blend of the seven grape varieties authorized in Champagne: Meunier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and the Cépages Oubliés – Petit Meslier, Arbane, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. A rare and fascinating varietal mosaic that interprets, with rigor and coherence, the identity of the vineyard and the artisanal vision of the producer.
This edition, Millésime 2019, is vinified in 205-liter oak barrels, with spontaneous fermentations and no filtration, in order to preserve integrity and expressive authenticity. Malolactic fermentation is not sought, a choice that maintains the wine’s natural tension. After tirage, the wine ages for over 5 years on the lees, developing depth and cohesion. Disgorgement, carried out between 3 and 6 months prior to release, precedes a bottling with no final dosage, in Brut Nature style, underscoring precision and transparency.
On the nose, Le Clos Barret 2019 reveals a layered and vibrant aromatic profile, with hints of rare flowers, fresh citrus, ripe yellow fruit and subtle spices. On the palate, dynamic energy emerges, supported by incisive minerality and a savory structure that reflects its varietal richness. The balance plays between tension and depth, with a long, saline persistence leading to a precise and coherent finish.
Produced in a limited run of only 651 bottles, it represents a unique work that enhances the eclectic potential of Champagne’s grape varieties.
