Les Rouges Monts 2019
The Champagne Les Rouges Monts by Denis Salomon originates from the eponymous Lieu-Dit Les Rouges Monts in the Vallée de la Marne, near Damery, where Meunier achieves an intense and distinctive expression on sandy and chalky soils that impart verticality and mineral tension to the wine. This Blanc de Meunier confidently interprets the character of the grape variety through a coherent and rigorous artisanal vision, deeply connected to the single parcel. The identity of the terroir emerges clearly, in an authentic and uncompromising reading that enhances energy, precision, and expressive transparency.
This edition, Millésime 2019, is vinified in 500-liter oak barrels, a choice that supports the wine’s evolution without overshadowing its varietal profile. The absence of malolactic fermentation preserves drive and structural freshness, while aging on the lees for over 60 months builds depth and aromatic layering. The disgorgement takes place without dosage, in Brut Nature style, for a dry and crystalline definition.
On the palate, Les Rouges Monts 2019 stands out for its clean and vibrant profile, with notes of ripe citrus, crisp apple, and hints of wild herbs and chalk. It displays a streamlined structure, saline tension, and linear progression, supported by a fine and incisive texture. The finish is long and precise, with balance shaped by freshness, energy, and mineral depth.
