The Coteaux Champenois Rosé by Charles Dufour is born in the Barséquanais of the Côte des Bar, the southernmost stretch of Champagne, where a clay-limestone terroir lends depth and tension to Pinot Noir. The fruit of the vision of a vigneron who embodies a new generation attentive to the authenticity of the territory, this still rosé comes from organic viticulture and a respectful approach that lets the soil speak with sincerity. The grapes come from the vineyards owned by his mother Françoise, which is why the label bears the wording Domaine Françoise Martinot, a tribute to a family bond that gives this wine identity and history.

This V.21 edition, the 2021 harvest, involves a vinification carried out in oak barrels following a natural and non-interventionist approach, with spontaneous fermentations and a minimal use of sulphur, in respect of the matter and of its most direct expression. The work preserves the integrity of the fruit and the finesse of the clay-limestone terroir, yielding a rosé with a clear and fragrant profile, where the hand of the vigneron merely accompanies the wine along its natural evolution without forcing it.

On tasting, the Coteaux Champenois Rosé V.21 presents an elegant, bright pink colour that anticipates a delicate and fragrant bouquet, where subtle notes of red fruit interweave with floral nuances and a slight mineral imprint. On the palate it proves fresh and dynamic, supported by a lively acidity that lends momentum and drinkability, with a silky texture that accompanies the gustatory development. The finish is long and savoury, with a close of fruity and saline appeal that confirms the balance and expressive precision of this rosé. Made in a limited run of just 720 bottles.
