Diebolt-Vallois

Guardians of a knowledge handed down through generations, Jacques Diebolt and Nadia Vallois founded their Domaine in Cramant in 1978, uniting two ancient lineages of vignerons — the Diebolt, tied to this Grand Cru village since the 19th century, and the Vallois, in Cuis since the 15th. In the northern Côte des Blancs, the chosen land of Chardonnay, the family carved evocative cellars into the chalk of the hillside. Today the Domaine is led by their children Arnaud and Isabelle, with the third generation already at work, while Jacques continues to watch over the vines and the blends.

The vineyard stretches across nearly fourteen hectares, predominantly Chardonnay, among the Grands Crus of Cramant, Chouilly and Le Mesnil, the Premier Cru of Cuis and a few plots on the border, with vines in Cramant that are over sixty years old. Farmed with a reasoned approach and grass cover between the rows, the Domaine drives the roots of its vines deep into the chalk to draw out its minerality. From this are born chiselled, vibrant Blanc de Blancs, the fruit of vinifications carried out plot by plot, faithful expressions of the crystalline elegance of the Côte des Blancs.
