Champagne Veuve Clicquot

The Champagne Vintage by Veuve Clicquot embodies the highest expression of the art of waiting, a declaration of confidence in a harvest deemed exceptional and worthy of speaking for itself. Heir to a tradition founded by Madame Clicquot, pioneer of vintage Champagne, every Vintage from the Maison comes into being only when the harvest reaches a quality worthy of being crystallised in time, preserving the unrepeatable character of a single year and the unmistakable signature of one of Champagne's most celebrated names.
This sixty-seventh edition, Vintage 2015, shows a predominance of Pinot Noir grapes at 50%, joined by 30% Chardonnay for finesse and elegance and 20% Meunier to complete its profile. The vinification and maturation of around 10% of the wines in oak barrels, combined with a prolonged maturation on the lees of at least eight years, lends structure and aromatic richness, while the final dosage of 6 g/l, in Brut style, seals its balance.
On the palate, the Vintage 2015 expresses a vertical and deep structure, in which power and finesse intertwine with rare coherence, sustained by a mineral tension that runs across the palate with vibrant precision. The progression unfolds towards an enveloping richness, where the toasted and spiced notes find room to breathe, while the persistence accompanies the finish with great composure, delivering a whole of character and harmony with a long, defined and perfectly balanced profile.
