Lo Champagne Le Village 2020 by Thomas Perseval is conceived as a parcel-specific, deeply identity-driven interpretation of the lieu-dit Le Village in Chamery, a Premier Cru village of the Montagne de Reims. This cuvée expresses the most vertical and rigorous profile of Chardonnay in a historically suited context, through an artisanal vision that places origin, vintage, and expressive transparency at its core, deliberately avoiding stylistic concessions or corrective interventions.

This edition, Millésime 2020, is produced from 100% Chardonnay sourced from a single parcel and vinified entirely in oak barrels, a deliberate choice aimed at building depth and complexity without weighing down the material. Fermentation and ageing follow a path of minimal intervention, with lees ageing for over 40 months prior to dégorgement à la volée. The absence of final dosage - Brut Nature - and the use of minimal sulphites define an essential, coherent style with a clear territorial imprint.

In tasting, Le Village 2020 reveals a taut, layered aromatic profile, led by notes of ripe citrus, yellow apple, and white-fleshed fruit, complemented by hints of chalk, almond, and subtle, controlled oxidative nuances. On the palate, the wine shows a razor-sharp structure, supported by precise acidity and a persistent mineral texture that carries the development with remarkable coherence. The finish is long and saline, while the overall balance rests on the tension between substance and freshness, delivering a Champagne of striking clarity and character.
