Origine Rosé

The Champagne Origine Rosé by J.M. Goulard is an artisanal cuvée that authentically reflects the character of the Massif de Saint-Thierry, in the Montagne de Reims area. Composed of 57% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir, and 3% vin rouge de Meunier, it stands out for its intense rosé hue, elegant structure, and aromatic depth born from meticulous winemaking. The grapes, grown on predominantly sandy soils using organic practices, come from the 2021 harvest.

Fermentation takes place partly in oak barrels, followed by two years of aging on the lees. The dosage of 4 g/l helps maintain an Extra Brut profile, enhancing the identity of both fruit and terroir without overwhelming the palate. This balance between freshness and complexity fully represents the vision of Damien Goulard, fourth generation of winegrowers, committed to highlighting the potential of Meunier and Pinot Noir.

On the nose, Origine Rosé reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, lively and well defined. On the palate, it presents a juicy texture, supported by a vibrant acidity that balances the richness of the fruit. The fruit notesblend harmoniously with a vibrant minerality, offering a deep and persistent finish. The touch of oak, discreet and well integrated, enriches the profile without ever overshadowing the wine’s original purity.

The winemaking adventure of the Goulard family begins with Paul Goulard, a farmer and winemaker, who lays the foundation of the current estate. In 1978, his son Jean-Marie, together with his wife Martine, establishes the winery, focusing on traditional viticulture and quality wines. Their children, Sébastien, Sylvain, and Damien, grow up among the vineyards, harvests, and loyal customers. Since 2012, Damien has been leading the estate, combining tradition with a contemporary vision.

Today, Damien works with deep attention to the Massif de Saint-Thierry, practicing thoughtful viticulture without chemical treatments, and is in the process of organic and biodynamic certification. Parcel-based vinifications and the mindful use of wood allow the identity of the place to be fully expressed. At the heart of his philosophy lies the geology of the land, which guides every decision in both vineyard and cellar.

The Massif de Saint-Thierry offers a heterogeneous terroir with sandy-clay and clay-limestone soils, ideal for precision viticulture. Thanks to a favorable microclimate, Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay find perfect conditions to express their character. Damien’s wines are distinguished by moderate acidity, elegance, and fine minerality — a distinctive signature of both the land and his craftsmanship.
