Champagne Ruinart
Millésime 2016
The Champagne Millésime by Ruinart tells the story of the elegance and finesse that have always distinguished this historic Maison, while expressing the contrasting character of a unique vintage. Born from the prestigious Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, this wine celebrates Chardonnay as the guiding thread of a philosophy that seeks purity, tension and aromatic depth in respect of the Champagne terroir.
This edition, Vintage 2016, shows a predominance of Chardonnay grapes at 48%, alongside Pinot Noir at 32% and Meunier at 20%, in a vintage marked by a cool, wet spring followed by a hot, dry summer that gave great expressiveness and concentration. Vinification and fermentation take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruity aromas, with a malolactic fermentation that softens the acidity towards a creamy profile. After the tirage comes an ageing of at least six years on the lees, with a final dosage of 5 g/l, in a Brut style.
On the palate, Ruinart Millésime 2016 reveals a perfect balance between roundness and vivacity, sustained by a saline minerality that lends depth and drive to its profile. The texture is broad and harmonious, where ripe fruit aromas intertwine with citrus nuances in a precise and dynamic progression. The persistence is long and vibrant, closing on a freshness typically linked to Chardonnay that leaves a clean and inviting trail.
