Les Partelaines 2019
The Champagne Les Partelaines by Roland Champion belongs to the limited "Lieu-Dit" series of the Domaine, a project dedicated to celebrating the uniqueness of single parcels in the most distinctive vintages. A purest expression of Chouilly, a Grand Cru village in the CĂ´te des Blancs entirely devoted to Chardonnay, it is born from a historic parcel and tells of a chalky terroir that lends precision, identity and a vibrant, crystalline minerality.
This edition, Vintage 2019, comes from a year of great precision marked by cool nights that preserved beautiful acidities. Vinification and maturation take place in 228-litre fût de chêne, with natural clarification without fining or filtration, where the wine matures for ten months, gaining depth and complexity. After the tirage, the wine ages on its own lees for more than 4 years, with no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, expressing its purest identity.
On tasting, Les Partelaines 2019 proves fine and refined, with a lively, taut attack supported by a chalky minerality that runs across the palate with momentum. The balance plays on precision and clarity, in a slender, deep gustatory texture that unites freshness and elegance with ease. The persistence is long and saline, marked by a finish that recalls the calcareous terroir of Chouilly and confirms the singularity of this Blanc de Blancs. Production in a limited run of 1,680 bottles.
