The Champagne Saignée de la Côte by Thibaud Brocard – Domaine Pierre Brocard – is a Rosé originating from the La Martinée parcel, set on a complex substratum of hard Portlandian limestone, lumachelle with exogyra, Kimmeridgian marl, and brown clay. In this context, 100% Pinot Noir expresses an intense and textural personality, giving rise to a saignée Rosé that interprets the Côte des Bar with depth, energy, and a strong territorial imprint.

This edition, from the 2022 vintage, involves pressing with a traditional 4000 kg vertical Coquard press, followed by vinification and fermentation entirely in stainless steel, a choice that preserves aromatic integrity and fruit precision. After bottling, the wine undergoes lees aging for a minimum of 24 months, a period that builds structure while maintaining tension and dynamism. The absence of final dosage, in Brut Nature style, coherently expresses the purity of Pinot Noir and the distinctive identity of the parcel.

On the nose, Saignée de la Côte 2022 displays an intense and engaging aromatic profile, with notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant, enriched by floral hints of violet and light sweet spices reminiscent of cinnamon and pink pepper. On the palate, it reveals well-defined structure and vinosity, with a broad, textural mouthfeel supported by vibrant freshness that drives the progression. The finish is long and dynamic, with returning crunchy red fruit notes and a delicate spicy accent that extends the persistence while maintaining balance and precision.
