Champagne Pierre Brocard
Dits-Lieux Magnum
The Champagne Dits-Lieux by Thibaud Brocard – Domaine Pierre Brocard – was conceived as the synthesis of 10 parcels blended from clay-limestone soils of Portlandian and Kimmeridgian origin in the Côte des Bar. It is a project that enhances the identity of each individual lieu-dit through a collective interpretation of the territory, where the limestone component brings tension and precision, while clay contributes structure and depth.
This edition is based on a blend composed of 70% from the 2021 vintage and 30% réserve perpétuelle, a choice that provides aromatic depth and stylistic continuity. The blend combines Pinot Noir (75%), Pinot Blanc (20%) – among the rare Cépages Oubliés of Champagne – and Chardonnay (5%), shaping a dynamic profile capable of uniting structure, breadth, and mineral tension. Pressing is carried out using a traditional 4000 kg vertical Coquard press, followed by vinification and fermentation with 90% in stainless steel and 10% in oak barrels, preserving expressive precision while adding further complexity. After bottling, the wine undergoes lees aging for a minimum of 36 months. The final dosage of 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, defines a precise balance between tension and substance.
On the nose, Dits-Lieux reveals a broad and refined profile, where Pinot Noir leads the aromatic expression with notes of ripe red berries, citrus zest, and subtle chalky nuances. On the palate, it stands out for its solid, finely sculpted structure, where vinosity intertwines with incisive freshness that drives the progression without adding weight. The texture is compact yet dynamic, with mineral tension accompanying the development toward a long and precise finish, marked by a delicate balsamic and slightly mentholated note that extends the persistence.
