The Champagne Aube Saline by Thibaud Brocard – Domaine Pierre Brocard – originates from the Val Frion parcel, set on a distinctive geological mosaic composed of hard Portlandian limestone, lumachelle with exogyra, Kimmeridgian marl, and brown clay. This environment imparts a marked saline character and a clear mineral tension, an authentic expression of the Côte des Bar. This Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Chardonnay interprets the territory with precision and verticality, highlighting finesse and varietal purity.

This edition, Millésime 2018, involves pressing with a traditional 4000 kg vertical Coquard press, followed by vinification and fermentation entirely in stainless steel, a choice that preserves aromatic clarity and expressive precision. After bottling, the wine undergoes lees aging for a minimum of 6 years, a period that enhances complexity while maintaining tension and mineral drive. The final dosage of 0 g/l, in Brut Nature style, expresses the saline identity of the parcel with coherence and transparency.

On the nose, Aube Saline 2018 reveals a delicate, floral bouquet with notes of linden blossom, light hints of vanilla, and fresh hazelnut, followed by citrus nuances. On the palate, it shows freshness and precision, with a linear structure supported by vibrant acidity. The progression is long and focused, with returning citrus notes and subtle earthy nuances leading to an elegant and persistent finish, true to the terroir’s saline imprint.
