Champagne Perrier-Jouët
Blason Rosé
The Champagne Blason Rosé by Perrier-Jouët is born from the blend of around 30 crus among the finest terroirs of Champagne, the expression of the Maison's most gastronomic cuvée and its first Rosé, a direct descendant of the prestigious Blason de France cuvées introduced in 1955 and served in some of the most refined restaurants in the world. The blending is carried out in a single stage, examining the casks one by one to select the crus destined for this cuvée, in which it seeks breadth and structure combined with a marked freshness. The choice of crus is calibrated according to the profile of the harvest, giving life to a broad and generous Rosé that maintains the floral and elegant style that has distinguished the Maison from its very origins.
This Rosé takes form from a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier, built on the model of the Grand Brut and enriched by the addition of red wines from Aÿ and Vincelles as well as a proportion of between 12% and 15% of vin de réserve from previous vintages, which ensure stylistic consistency year after year. Vinification takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and continues with malolactic fermentation, followed by around 48 months of ageing on the lees. The final dosage, in the Brut style, allows the generosity of the fruit to emerge and completes the profile with balance, heightening the aromatic richness of this Champagne.
On tasting, Blason Rosé stands out for its vinosity, generosity and roundness rather than lightness, showing a luminous salmon-pink colour wrapped in light orange highlights and enlivened by a fine, lively and persistent perlage. On the nose it opens with aromas of pomegranate, pear, apricot and blood orange, interwoven with hints of ripe red fruits such as redcurrant and raspberry and floral touches of rose and honeysuckle, completed by suggestions of biscuit, butter and pastry. On the palate the fresh and intense attack meets a soft and complex texture, rich and long-lasting, where the floral and refined style of the Maison expresses itself with full coherence.
