Les Ronsures (Chardonnay) 2022
The Champagne Les Ronsures by Nicolas Maillart comes from a single parcel in the Grand Cru of Bouzy, one of the benchmark terroirs of the Montagne de Reims. The Les Ronsures lieu-dit, planted in 1987 with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from massal selection, is farmed with an environmentally respectful approach and reflects a deeply terroir-driven vision, in which the natural power of the grape varieties is guided toward a precise and balanced expression, free of any superstructure.
This Chardonnay edition, Vintage 2022, is a Blanc de Blancs vinified and fermented entirely in fût de chêne and matured on the fine lees, with no fining or filtration. This artisanal approach preserves the complexity of the fruit and the mineral tension of the terroir. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for at least 30 months before disgorgement without final dosage, in a direct and crystalline style that has become the signature of the Domaine.
On tasting, Les Ronsures Chardonnay 2022 stands out for its aromatic clarity and sharp structure, opening with notes of citrus, fresh almond and chalk interwoven with light toasty nuances. On the palate it is taut, saline and deep, with a precise and persistent finish that suggests great ageing potential. Production in a limited run of 4,613 bottles.
