The Champagne Nature Millésime by Mailly originates from a late harvest which, in Mailly-Champagne, began on October 8, immediately revealing a profile of great aromatic precision and expressive intensity. The musts, sourced from the finest lieux-dits of Mailly-Champagne, expressed the richness of the terroir with a range of fruity and spicy nuances, supported by a lively and harmonious mineral tension.

This edition, Millésime 2013, is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, uniting the elegance of Chardonnay with the strength and structure of Pinot Noir. The whole-cluster pressing ensures the utmost purity of the juice, while fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel and barrels. After tirage, the wine undergoes a long ageing on the lees for a minimum of seven years in traditional chalk crayères. The Nature style – with zero dosage (0 g/l) – reveals the quintessence of the vintage, enhancing the wine’s natural balance and precision. The result is a Champagne that combines energy, creaminess, and absolute finesse.

In tasting, Nature Millésime 2013 shows a brilliant golden-yellow colour, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it displays notes of juicy pear, green apple, fresh citrus, and delicate spices, accompanied by hints of baked fruit and bread crust. On the palate, it is tense and enveloping, with a controlled creaminess that balances the lively energy of the vintage; the broad structure, saline texture, and long, refined finish make it a perfect example of precision and stylistic purity from Mailly.
