The Champagne Les Échansons 2013 represents the ultimate expression of Mailly’s winemaking art, a cuvée de prestige produced only in great vintages, capable of combining depth, elegance, and an extraordinary ageing potential. Dedicated to the échansons, the ancient attendants of the Court of the Kings of France, entrusted with selecting and serving wines, this cuvée embodies the refinement and prestige of the Mailly style.

This edition, Millésime 2013, is born from a blend of Pinot Noir (75%) and Chardonnay (25%), sourced exclusively from Grand Cru parcels in Mailly-Champagne, selected for their power and ageing potential. Only the first-press must is used, ensuring the utmost purity, with fermentation and maturation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and, in part, in oak barrels (fûts de chêne), to lend breadth and complexity. After tirage, ageing on the lees takes place in the chalk crayères, where the wine rests for a minimum of 10 years, developing depth and harmony. The final dosage of 5.3 g/l defines a Brut style of balance and precision, enhancing the mineral texture and the authentic identity of its Grand Cru origin.

On tasting, Les Échansons 2013 reveals a deep golden colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose opens with notes of pastry and ripe fruit, interwoven with candied citrus zest, dried fruit, and a spicy, spirituous touch that lends character and depth. On the palate, it is rich and silky, with ample substance, impeccable balance, and a vibrant, mineral finish that highlights the fullness and energy of the harvest. Produced in a limited edition of only 7,598 individually numbered bottles.
