Located in Bouzy, one of Champagne's 17 Grand Cru villages, Domaine Lucien Collard is a niche vigneron celebrating the elegance and power of Pinot Noir. The Collard family has been cultivating vines since the 17th century, well before the birth of Champagne, initially producing still wines. In 1919, after the marriage of Lucien Collard, grandfather of the current owner, and Julia Bara, the family settled in Bouzy.

The Domaine is characterised by a production philosophy that aims at excellence and the highest expression of Pinot Noir of Bouzy, adopting practices that are more restrictive than the official specifications: exclusive use of the Tête de Cuvée, the purest part of the must; they also avoid malolactic fermentation, to preserve the freshness and typicality of the fruit and opt for prolonged ageing in the cellar, well beyond the minimum time allowed by the regulation. Last but not least, the dosage is kept to a minimum, to bring out the authentic character of the wine.

Auriane Denis is the Domaine's manager, who personally cares for the vineyards with the attention and dedication of a true ‘jardinier du vin’. The parcel-based approach and ageing in carefully selected vats and wood allow the peculiarities of each micro-terroir to be brought out, resulting in Champagnes of extraordinary finesse and complexity. With production limited to just over 10,000 bottles per year, Domaine Lucien Collard represents a refined and authentic interpretation of the Grand Cru of Bouzy, combining tradition, know-how and sustainability to offer wines of great character and longevity.
