Cuvée 1 - Apolline Millésime 2020
The Champagne Cuvée 1 Apolline by Leclaire-Thiéfaine is a refined and luminous expression of the prestigious terroir of Avize, a renowned Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs. Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from distinct lieux-dits owned by the Domaine, this cuvée translates with sincerity the purity and finesse typical of the great Blanc de Blancs, conveying all the chalky elegance and deep mineral vocation of a truly unique territory.
This edition, Vintage 2020, reflects a precise and considered stylistic choice in which vinification takes place 76% in stainless steel vats and the remaining 24% in fût de chêne, in full respect of the raw material. After the tirage the wine ages on the lees for almost three years, at the end of which the final dosage, deliberately minimal and below 3 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, enhances its extraordinary aromatic purity and clear varietal expression.
On the palate, the Cuvée 1 Apolline 2020 reveals itself as refined and luminous, seducing with subtle floral notes, delicate citrus hints and a distinctive chalky minerality of great clarity, finesse and expressive depth. It shows itself delicate and elegant, sustained by a very fine, persistent perlage and a saline, vibrant tension that heightens its balance, overall harmony and a long, luminous and truly satisfying finish. The overall production is 4,212 bottles.
