Champagne Laherte Frères
Rosé de Saignée Les Beaudiers
The Champagne Rosé de Saignée Les Beaudiers by Laherte Frères originates from a single lieu-dit, a historic parcel planted in the 1950s near the village of Chavot, in the Côteaux Sud d’Épernay. In this privileged context, the Meunier from old vines finds one of its purest and most authentic expressions, giving life to a rare cuvée, deeply identity-driven and a perfect interpreter of the artisanal vision of the Laherte family.
This edition, harvest base 2020, is crafted according to the traditional Rosé de Saignée method, with a maceration on the skins capable of giving the wine vibrant color, structure, and a rich, multi-faceted aromatic complexity. Fermentation takes place in fût de chêne, without fining or filtration, in line with an essential and respectful approach to the raw material. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for at least 24 months; the final dosage, extremely low and in Extra Brut style, preserves tension, purity, and mineral precision, enhancing the character of the grape variety and its terroir.
On tasting, Les Beaudiers presents an intense and bright pink color, animated by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, notes of ripe small red fruits, pomegranate, redcurrant, and wild strawberries emerge, accompanied by spicy nuances and delicate floral accents. On the palate, the wine reveals breadth and structure, supported by a subtle tannic texture and a vibrant saline freshness that gives momentum and definition. The finish is long, incisive, and elegantly mineral, perfectly consistent with the identity of the lieu-dit and the artisanal sensitivity of the Maison.
