Rosé Fleur de Meunier

The Champagne Rosé Fleur de Meunier by Domaine Lagille is a cuvée made from 100% Meunier, sourced from vineyards in Treslon, at the heart of one of the most distinctive areas of the Vallée de l’Ardre. Crafted through cold maceration of carefully selected grapes, the wine is partly fermented in fût de chêne and partly in stainless steel, followed by a long ageing of at least 60 months on the lees. The dosage, limited to 3 g/l, places it in the Extra Brut category, balancing freshness and structure.

On tasting, Rosé Fleur de Meunier reveals a bright and intense cherry-pink hue. The bouquet is immediately expressive, with notes of redcurrant and raspberry, complemented by floral nuances and a slightly citrusy hint. On the palate, the wine stands out for its lively, fruit-driven character, with a fine bead that enhances its elegance and a crisp, pleasantly thirst-quenching finish.

Fleur de Meunier is a compelling expression of both terroir and varietal, combining freshness, precision, and harmony, while showcasing the distinctive character of Meunier in its Rosé version.

Lagille

The Lagille, a family of winemakers since the 17th century, have been in Treslon, in the Vallée de l'Ardre, since 1818.The management of the Domaine Lagille, previously managed by Bernard and Marie, is currently entrusted to Maud and Vincent, the latest generation of the family, very attached to their family roots. Clear ideas and far-sighted gaze, the goal of these young winemakers was to create local wines, in which the land could express itself and tell the link between wine, terroir and family heritage in a passionate, committed and conscientious way.

In this sense, the Domaine's commitment to changing cultivation practices by favoring organic approaches was fundamental (it has been in organic conversion since 2019) and adopting practices that have allowed to obtain the HVE - Haute Valeur Environnementale - certification.The Domaine Lagille has 7.20 hectares, cultivated for 55% in Meuniers, 30% in Chardonnay and 15% in Pinot Noir, with a production of around 50,000 bottles.

The Meunier is cultivated with a system and pruning “cordon royat” (spurred cordon) usually reserved only for the Grand Cru vineyards of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as the yields are lower and allow for greater concentration and quality.Parcel vinification, minimum dosages and use of wood are some of the characteristics that distinguish the Champagne Lagille, an expression of the terroir that gathers all the richness and complexity of the calcareous clayey soil of the Montagne de Reims.
