Les Bergères
The Champagne Les Bergères by Lagille comes to life in Treslon, in the Vallée de l'Ardre, from the lieu-dit of the same name, a south-facing plot where old Pinot Noir vines of around forty years find conditions of rare healthiness. This Blanc de Noirs embodies the parcel-driven vision of the Domaine, built on the idea of a wine able to express a single grape variety, a single plot and a single vintage, authentically conveying all the richness of a terroir rooted in a family history that has accompanied these vines since the XIX century.
This edition, 2022 harvest, showcases Pinot Noir alone from these old vines, through vinification and maturation in fût de chêne crafted from the family's own old trees. After tirage, the wine rests on the lees for at least 24 months, lending breadth and finesse. With no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, the wine chooses utmost transparency, letting the fruit and the matter define its character.
On tasting, Les Bergères reveals a profile that weaves red fruit, wild strawberries, citrus and grapefruit together with delicate hints of white flowers, completed by a note of bread crust. The palate stands out for its broad, well-articulated structure, supported by a vibrant freshness and a pleasantly savoury return. The finish, long and fruity, confirms the balance and remarkable persistence that express the depth of this plot.
