The Champagne Champ Bouton by Domaine La Rogerie expresses with great precision the character of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, taking shape in the eponymous parcel (lieu-dit) located north of the Grand Cru of Avize. Covering barely 0.35 hectares, this vineyard sits alongside iconic parcels such as Chantereines and Robarts, while the vines, planted between 1959 and 1961 with some later replanting, grow on thin chalky soils of 20–30 cm that give the wine tension, depth and a marked mineral imprint.

This edition, from the 2022 harvest completed by vin de réserve of the 2021 and 2020 years, is vinified with spontaneous fermentations from indigenous yeasts and matures in 228-litre oak barrels of 2–5 years, a choice that carries the wine towards greater complexity without compromising its expressive precision, while after tirage it undergoes an ageing on the lees of at least 30 months that amplifies its articulation and depth. No final dosage, in Brut Nature style, in order to preserve an essential, taut and perfectly defined profile.

On tasting, Champ Bouton shows a very fine and persistent perlage, accompanied by notes of toasted brioche, saline accents and a vibrant minerality, interwoven with delicate floral and fruity nuances. On the palate it reveals energy, elegance and tension, with a refined texture and a progressive depth that leads to a long and enveloping finish. Production in a limited and individually numbered run.
