Rosé des Riceys "La Sourde" 2022
The Rosé des Riceys “La Sourde” 2022 is a refined expression crafted by Karine Prélat, made from 100% Pinot Noirsourced from the family’s namesake parcel, planted in 1971 in the prestigious terroir of Les Riceys, in the Côte des Bar. The harvest took place on September 4th, 2022, involving only perfectly ripe bunches, hand-picked and vinified as whole clusters, followed by a maceration lasting about five days. Fermentation and ageing occurred in stainless steel tanks over a ten-month period, with bottling in July 2023 limited to just 673 bottles.
“La Sourde” stands out for its intense yet refined character. The nose reveals a broad and intricate aromatic palette: strawberry, blackcurrant, wild berries, violet, quince, fresh almond, and a balsamic hint of peppermint. A bouquet that reflects the richness and identity of Pinot Noir grown in this singular microclimate. On the palate, it offers a full and vigorous structure, supported by silky tannins and a vibrant freshness that extends the finish. The tension between energy and finesse makes this cuvée a brilliant example within the Rosé des Riceys category: a rare wine, capable of expressing elegance, strength, and authenticity.
