Pharamond 2018
The Côteaux Champenois Rouge Pharamond 2018 by J.M. Goulard is a rare red wine from Champagne, produced in only 500 bottles from 100% Meunier grapes, grown in the vineyards of Prouilly, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry. The name refers to Pharamond, the legendary first king of the Franks, symbolizing a strong connection to the region’s historical roots.
The 2018 harvest was vinified in a respectful and traditional style: fermentation in stainless steel, followed by ageing that may include the use of Clayver ceramic amphorae, ideal for preserving the fruit’s integrity and the essence of the terroir. Bottled in August 2020, it captures the full energy of a generous and harmonious vintage.
On the nose, Pharamond 2018 opens with notes of crisp cherry, raspberry, and red flowers, enriched by a delicate spicy nuance. On the palate, it is elegant and vibrant, supported by silky tannins, a balanced structure, and a sharp freshness that extends its persistence. An authentic expression of Meunier, rare and deeply rooted in its terroir.
