Champagne J.M. Goulard
La Charme
The Champagne La Charme by J.M. Goulard is an elegant expression of pure Meunier, with grapes sourced from vineyards located in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, a hilly area northwest of Reims, where the family cultivates under organic conversion. This Blanc de Noirs is crafted from a blend of the 2016 and 2017 vintages, with 70% vinification in oak barrels, imparting structure and complexity. Aging on the lees for four years shapes its profile, enhancing depth without compromising balance and freshness.
Upon tasting, La Charme reveals a bright golden yellow hue and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet is broad and enveloping, with notes of toasted wood, vanilla, smoky nuances, and spicy accents, enriched by fruity sensations of apple, peach, and candied citrus. Fermentation in wood adds structure and complexity, while preserving balance and freshness. On the palate, it displays an elegant texture, delicate bubbles, and a tense, vibrant character. The Extra Brut dosage (5 g/l) supports the tasting experience, ending with a mineral and savory note of great persistence.
A limited production of 1,967 bottles, emblematic of the nobility of Meunier vinified with artisanal precision.
