The Champagne Hautes Mottes 2014 by Jean Louis Vergnon is a Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the eponymous Lieu-Dit classified as Grand Cru, located near the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. A legendary terroir of the CĂ´te des Blancs, renowned for elegance, purity, and mineral tension.
This cuvée comes from a single 2014 vintage and was vinified in 300-liter oak barrels (fût de chêne), a choice that adds complexity and depth. After bottling, the wine rested for over 8 years on the lees, reflecting the Domaine’s rigorous and artisanal style. The choice of a Brut Nature dosage (0 g/l) enhances expressive transparency and precision.
On the palate, Hautes Mottes 2014 reveals great class: finely etched aromas of ripe citrus, dried fruit, and chalky notes lead to a vibrant sip, supported by saline structure, vertical length, and refined mineral persistence. An essential and powerful Blanc de Blancs, combining depth and finesse in exemplary balance.
