Chardonnay Millésime 2021
The Champagne Chardonnay Millésime by Émilien Feneuil originates near Sermiers, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, where the young vigneron tends his parcels with an artisanal approach that respects natural balances. This Blanc de Blancs offers a precise interpretation of a complex terroir, characterized by soils of sand, marl, clay, and soft limestone, which impart tension and a marked saline character to the wine — a distinctive hallmark of Feneuil’s style.
This edition, Millésime 2021, takes shape through vinification and fermentation in used wooden barrels with indigenous yeasts, without fining or filtration, in order to preserve integrity and expressive transparency. After tirage, it undergoes aging on the lees for at least 36 months, a period that enhances depth and complexity. The final dosage of 0 g/l, in Brut Nature style, underscores a deliberate choice of absolute purity and stylistic coherence.
On the palate, Chardonnay Millésime 2021 reveals a clear and layered profile: the nose opens with mineral and chalky notes, followed by hints of ripe fruit, citrus, and delicate floral nuances. It is taut and vertical, supported by vibrant acidity that frames a balanced and precise structure. The finish is long, saline, and persistent, faithfully reflecting an authentic and rigorous interpretation of the Sermiers terroir.
