La Collection Crayères Blanc des Millénaires 1996 represents one of the most precious and emblematic expressions of Charles Heidsieck, a rare and monumental vintage Champagne, symbolizing the patience and highest Champenois savoir-faire. The 1996 vintage, regarded as one of the greatest of the century, benefited from nearly ideal climatic conditions: a balanced, sunny, and breezy summer that ensured full ripeness, vibrant acidity, and remarkable aromatic concentration. It remains unanimously celebrated as one of the defining benchmarks of modern Champagne.

Crafted entirely from 100% Chardonnay, this Blanc de Blancs is born from an assemblage of the purest and most mineral terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. Only five villages compose this cuvée: Vertus (Premier Cru), and the Grands Crus of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant. These parcels, chosen for their ability to evolve gracefully and reveal exceptional aromatic richness, define the wine’s balance and depth. The 1997 tirage, followed by 24 years of ageing on the lees in the Maison’s historic chalk crayères, and a final dosage of 9 g/L in Brut style, have shaped a vibrant and precise personality, where finesse and mineral tension merge into crystalline persistence.
