The Champagne Blanc des Millénaires by Charles Heidsieck stands as one of the most iconic interpretations of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, born from a vision that combines time, precision, and remarkable ageing potential. This cuvée takes shape through a blend of grapes sourced from five historic Champagne villages, including the Grands Crus of Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Chouilly, alongside the Premier Cru of Vertus. The extended ageing in the Maison’s ancient Gallo-Roman crayères, now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, contributes to defining a style of remarkable refinement deeply connected to the chalky minerality of the terroir.

This 10th edition, Vintage 2017, is crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes selected for their ability to evolve slowly over time and develop extraordinary aromatic complexity. The vintage, marked by strong climatic contrasts yet capable of highlighting the freshness and precision of the Côte des Blancs, is interpreted through a winemaking approach focused on purity and long maturation. After tirage, the wine undergoes around 7 years of ageing on the lees within the Maison’s historic crayères, a process that enhances depth, harmony, and continuity on the palate while preserving the wine’s natural elegance.

In tasting, Blanc des Millénaires 2017 reveals a broad and luminous profile, with notes of toasted brioche, pastry cream, fresh hazelnut, almond, and delicate floral nuances intertwined with chalky and saline hints. On the palate, the texture is silky and precise, supported by vibrant freshness that carries through a long and refined finish.
