The Champagne Président Vieilles Vignes by R&L Legras carries with it the prestige of a cuvée born for the great French tables, where for decades it has accompanied the most important occasions until becoming a benchmark of discreet elegance and consistently measured style. Everything begins in Chouilly, a Grand Cru village of the Côte des Blancs renowned for its chalky soils, where the Maison devotes itself exclusively to Chardonnay, selecting the old-vine parcels best suited within its holdings.

This edition, Vintage 2014, involves vinification and maturation carried out with great rigour and without any forcing, so as to keep intact the aromatic definition and the natural finesse of the Chardonnay grapes picked in the most favoured parcels. After tirage comes a long ageing on the lees of at least 10 years, while the final dosage of around 5 g/l, in Brut style, rounds off the profile without ever interfering with its tension.

On tasting, Président Vieilles Vignes 2014 opens on hints of citrus and ripe apple that gradually give way to shades of brioche and dried fruit, within a framework always upheld by a clear chalky imprint of great definition. On the palate the structure proves concentrated and layered, with a dense, well-shaped substance that unfolds with precision and without any excess, finding in the long, deeply mineral finish its most accomplished synthesis.
