Le Champ des Maladries

The Champagne Le Champ des Maladries by Domaine Carré Frères is a blend of remarkable precision, composed of 60% Chardonnay from the Lieu-Dit “Le Champ Jeanvrai”, an old vineyard planted in 1964 near the Premier Cru village of Trépail, and 40% Pinot Noir from the Lieu-Dit “Les Maladries”, planted in 2005 in the Grand Cru of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims. This cuvée represents the harmonious meeting of two distinct terroirs, united by the mineral elegance of Trépail and the structural strength of Verzy.

The 2021 harvest produced grapes of great balance, vinified and aged in new 300-liter oak barrels for 11 months, with the aim of enhancing complexity and aromatic depth. After tirage, the wine continued aging on its lees for 30 months before disgorgement, achieving a perfect fusion of tension, roundness, and precision. The final dosage of 2 g/L, in Extra Brut style, preserves its purity and the authentic expression of the fruit.

On tasting, Le Champ des Maladries displays a golden luminosity with fine and persistent bubbles. The nose reveals notes of ripe citrus, hazelnut, and toasted bread, accompanied by hints of white flowers, peach, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is vibrant and creamy, with an elegant and mineral texture that unfolds into a long, saline, and refined finish.

A Champagne of great class and personality, produced in a limited edition of 4,809 bottles and 152 Magnums, encapsulating the artisanal and precise vision of Domaine Carré Frères.
