Champagne Benoît Lahaye
Blanc de Blancs
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs by Benoît Lahaye comes from a tiny micro-parcel of just 0.12 hectares, planted with Chardonnay and farmed according to organic and biodynamic practices, a philosophy that has guided the Lahaye family’s work for many years. The vineyard lies in the Monts Ferrés at Voipreux, in the prestigious Côte des Blancs.
This edition is crafted from an equal blend of the 2020 and 2021 vintages. Vinification and fermentation are carried out with indigenous yeasts in used oak barrels, without the addition of sulfites. After tirage, the wine undergoes a minimum of 24 months’ ageing on the lees, with no final dosage, resulting in the Brut Nature style that imparts energy, complexity, and authenticity.
On the palate, the Blanc de Blancs shows a bright pale-yellow colour and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose reveals white flowers, green apple, and citrus, enriched by hints of graphite, ginger, and delicate woody nuances. The palate is tense and vertical, supported by a vibrant acidity and marked mineral tension, leading to a long, saline, and elegant finish.
