Blanc de Noirs Magnum
The Champagne Blanc de Noir by Benoît Lahaye is an emblematic cuvée of the territorial identity of the Montagne de Reims, made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from the Lieu-Dit "Vaux-Bétins", located in Bouzy, a Grand Cru village that represents the beating heart of the Domaine. The vines, cultivated according to strictly natural principles, are rooted in chalky and clayey soils, which lend the wine both structure and depth.
Vinification takes place in used barriques, with spontaneous fermentation and no filtration, a testament to Lahaye's artisanal and non-interventionist philosophy. After bottling for secondary fermentation, the wine is aged on its lees for at least 30 months, developing complexity and natural elegance. The dosage is minimal, in Extra Brut style, to enhance the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.
On the palate, this Blanc de Noirs reveals a deep and vibrant profile, marked by a natural energy that reflects the integrity of its terroir. The nose opens with notes of ripe red fruits, pomegranate, and rhubarb, interwoven with subtle hints of licorice, undergrowth, and sweet spices derived from the oak maturation. On the palate, it is structured and precise, with a delicate tannic texture that envelops without weighing down the mouth. The mousse is fine and perfectly integrated, accompanying a mineral and saline persistence that concludes the tasting with sharp and dynamic tension. A genuine and powerful expression of Bouzy Pinot Noir, interpreted with rare sensitivity.
