Champagne Salima & Alain Cordeuil
Origines
The Champagne Origines by Salima & Alain Cordeuil is the result of a refined blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir, sourced from vines planted in the 1960s near Noé-les-Mallets and Ville-sur-Arce. The 2019 harvest gave rise to a cuvée that authentically reflects the character of the Côte des Bar. After tirage, the wine undergoes a maturation of at least 4 years on the lees, in line with a production philosophy focused on expressive depth. No dosage is added: this is a Brut Nature, pure and uncompromising.
On the eye, Origines shows a pale golden hue with shimmering greenish-yellow highlights. The nose is broad and precise: it opens with smoky chalky notes, typical of marlstone-rich soils, followed by aromas of blackcurrant, plum, quince, and citrus fruits like lemon and pomelo. The aromatic spectrum is completed by elegant hints of violet, hazelnut, almond, and sweet spices, adding depth and complexity. On the palate, it reveals a rich and creamy texture, supported by a silky and well-integrated effervescence. The full-bodied, fruity structure is balanced by a firm mineral backbone, with marly-chalky nuances delivering salinity, tension, and a long, sapid finish. A Champagne of remarkable precision and intensity, faithfully expressing the generosity of its terroir.
