The Champagne Premier Cru by Maxime Ponson is a refined expression of the Petite Montagne de Reims terroir, an area of sandy soils that lend the wines freshness and immediacy. The fruit of Premier Cru vineyards farmed with a sustainable, non-interventionist approach, the cuvée gathers the soul of a landscape where the producing philosophy favours full respect for the environment and fidelity to the authentic character of the place it comes from.

This edition, 2023 harvest, is enriched with around 30% of vin de réserve that broadens the aromatic depth and lends greater complexity to the final result. The blend shows a prevalence of 70% Meunier grapes, joined by 15% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir, while vinification and fermentation take place partly in stainless steel and partly in oak barrels, in a natural process free of filtration, cold stabilisation and temperature control. After tirage comes an ageing on the lees for a minimum period of 24 months, while the final dosage of 3 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, delivers a profile of great freshness and precise definition.

On tasting it is marked by an intense bouquet of fruity notes, embellished by elegant nuances of toasted hazelnut. On the palate the texture reveals a harmonious balance between structure and vivacity, with a fine perlage accompanying a cohesive development and a long, refined persistence, in a clean finish that seals its freshness and depth.
