Champagne Marie Copinet
La Ruelle des Loups
The Champagne La Ruelle des Loups by Copinet is produced from a blend of Meunier (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%), conceived as a single-parcel expression of the homonymous lieu-dit, planted in 1968 and located in Montigny-sous-Châtillon, in the Vallée de la Marne. The wine takes shape on the area’s typical sandy terroir, which favors finesse and immediate expressiveness over power. The vision of the Copinet estate, now led by Marie-Laure Copinet, is rooted in respectful viticulture and an artisanal reading of the territory, focused on expressive transparency and balance.
Vinification includes a maturation of around 11 months, with time spent in wood. After tirage, ageing on the lees is carried out with a cork stopper, a choice that promotes controlled micro-oxygenation and contributes to greater aromatic complexity. The low final dosage of 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style, keeps the wine’s profile precise and direct.
On tasting, La Ruelle des Loups shows a fine, regular mousse. The aromatic profile unfolds with delicate white and red fruit, accompanied by mineral nuances that reflect the sandy soils of the Vallée de la Marne. On the palate, the structure is well balanced, supported by freshness and tension, with a linear progression and a clean, measured persistence, built on precision and overall balance.
