Le Chant des Fûts
The Champagne Le Chant des Fûts by Le Brun de Neuville originates in the Côte de Sézanne, a renowned area where Chardonnay achieves a taut and luminous expression on clay and chalk soils. This Blanc de Blancs cuvée embodies an identity-driven project that highlights old vines with south-east exposure, capable of combining ripeness with mineral precision. Its name evokes the dialogue between wine and wood, the stylistic hallmark of a creation that interprets its terroir with depth and coherence.
This first edition, from the 2019 harvest, is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes and stands out for its long fermentation and maturation in oak barrels for 19 months. The barrels, of varying capacities – 205, 228, 300 and 400 litres – sourced from different Champagne and French cooperages, contribute to building a layered and multifaceted texture. After bottling, the wine ages on its lees for at least 36 months, with no final dosage, placing it in the Brut Nature style, a choice that enhances authenticity and expressive rigor.
On the palate, Le Chant des Fûts reveals intensity and finesse: the nose opens with notes of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit, delicate toasted nuances and hints of spice. The palate shows structure and verticality, supported by a vibrant mineral backbone and a seamlessly integrated creamy texture. The finish is long, precise and saline, with a balance that combines energy, depth and stylistic clarity.
