The Champagne Côte Brute by Le Brun de Neuville takes shape in the Côte de Sézanne, an area located south of the Côte des Blancs, where clay and chalk soils lend the wines tension, clarity, and mineral definition. This cuvée is born from the balanced union of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, sourced from 45-year-old vines facing southeast, ensuring expressive ripeness and aromatic depth. A project that reflects the cooperative’s commitment to enhancing mature and complementary parcels, offering a coherent and distinctive interpretation of the territory, marked by stylistic precision and consistent quality.
This edition, base harvest 2014, is enriched with 50% vin de réserve, an element that brings complexity and stylistic continuity. Alcoholic fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak foudres (4%), a choice that combines aromatic precision with structure. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for at least 30 months, developing depth and harmony while maintaining a coherent and well-defined style.
On the palate, Côte Brute stands out for its mineral and fleshy profile, supported by crisp freshness. The nose reveals notes of ripe citrus, crunchy apple, and delicate floral nuances, with subtle chalky undertones. On the palate it balances tension and roundness, with a creamy texture offset by a saline drive that leads to a persistent and well-balanced finish.
