The Champagne Terre de Vertus by Larmandier-Bernier originates from a single parcel located in Vertus, in the southern part of the Côte des Blancs, on deeply chalky soils that give Chardonnay a saline and luminous signature. This single-parcel cuvée represents one of the house’s most distinctive expressions, conceived to convey directly and without mediation the balance between fruit ripeness and mineral tension. Vineyard management under organic farming principles and careful attention to soil vitality are central to preserving authenticity and territorial precision.

This edition, Millésime 2017, is made from 100% Chardonnay sourced exclusively from the terroir of Vertus Premier Cru. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in large oak casks and vats, followed by a minimum of 60 months of aging on the lees, enhancing complexity and depth. The absence of dosage, Brut Nature, highlights the purity of the fruit and the transparency of the soil, while the measured use of wood helps structure the wine without altering its expressive verticality.

On tasting, Terre de Vertus 2017 stands out for its fine and persistent mousse. The aromatic profile opens with ripe citrus, crisp apple, white flowers, and delicate pastry notes, supported by a pronounced chalky imprint. On the palate, incisive freshness emerges, accompanied by a precise and sleek texture; the progression is linear, marked by clear salinity leading to a long, dry finish defined by rigorous mineral tension.
