Champagne J-M Sélèque
Quintette
The Champagne Quintette by J-M Sélèque is born from five terroirs selected to express the full depth of Chardonnay. An identity-driven cuvée, built from the assemblage of the most representative parcels located among the Premier Cru villages of Vertus, Pierry, and Dizy, as well as selected vineyards situated around Épernay and Mardeuil, each with its own vegetative balance, exposure, and agronomic history. A mosaic of silty and clayey soils rich in limestone, resting on a thin layer of Campanian chalk, a matrix that imparts verticality and purity.
This edition, based on the 2021 harvest, undergoes vinification entirely in fût de chêne of 350–600 liters, without any fining or filtration, respecting the integrity of the fruit. The blend includes 20% of Réserve Perpétuelle started in 2012, which adds layering and aromatic depth. After tirage, the wine is aged for a minimum of 24 months on the lees, and the final dosage is kept at 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style.
In tasting, Quintette appears bright and refined, with notes of citrus, white fruit, subtle toasted nuances, and a precise, saline mineral line. On the palate, it is taut, balanced, and solid in structure, supported by incisive freshness that leads to a long and harmonious persistence. A chiselled expression of Chardonnay that combines energy, finesse, and depth.
