Champagne Famille Moussé
L'Esquisse (Blanc de Blancs)
The Champagne L'Esquisse (Blanc de Blancs) by Famille Moussé is born from the desire to highlight the freshness, purity, and mineral tension that define the Domaine’s youngest parcels. The grapes, 100% Chardonnay, come from vineyards located around Cuisles, Jonquery, and Châtillon-sur-Marne, areas characterized by clay-limestone soils that lend the wine a luminous, linear profile in keeping with the artisanal vision of the Moussé family.
This edition, based on the 2023 harvest, includes 8% vin de réserve and undergoes ageing of around 24 months on the lees, a period designed to develop depth, finesse and aromatic complexity. The low final dosage of just 2 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, underlines the choice to express, with little mediation, the purity of the fruit and the natural energy of the terroir.
In tasting, L'Esquisse (Blanc de Blancs) shows a pale colour with golden reflections, animated by fine and consistent bubbles. On the nose, white flowers, fresh citrus, green apple, and clear mineral nuances emerge. On the palate, the attack is lively and chiselled, supported by elegant tension, with notes of lemon and pear intertwined with refined salinity. The long and refreshing finish confirms a linear, essential style, perfectly aligned with the signature of Famille Moussé.
